Sometimes I think Images bring down the value of human beings. We see people day to day and perceive them a certain way. We see a pretty face and that is ingrained into our brain, we observe someone that does not meet the standard of beauty and that is all we see. We formulate thoughts and ideas based on what we see at a glance. This really screws people over. I’ve met so many remarkable people that deserve a chance and they never get one. I’ve observed individuals with the prettiest faces yet as people they are horrible. I just wish we could really see people for what they are instead of a face. We value things in people that are completely and utterly worthless, yet the things that are of true importance people just tend to brush aside.

“So many people live within unhappy circumstances and yet will not take the initiative to change their situation because they are conditioned to a life of security, conformity, and conservatism, all of which may appear to give one peace of mind, but in reality nothing is more dangerous to the adventurous spirit within a man than a secure future. The very basic core of a man’s living spirit is his passion for adventure. The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun.”—Christopher McCandless (via awalkinherboots)
